Bright Club is an academic comedy night that transforms researchers and academics into stand-up comedians. The aim is to make research and academic subjects more accessible and engaging for a general audience through comedy. The shows are structured like a traditional comedy night, with a professional comedian as compere introducing a line-up of academic performers (between six and eight each show).
Bright Club not only helps academics develop their communication skills but also encourages public engagement with science, humanities, and other areas of academia by breaking down complex ideas into digestible comedy. Bright Club Edinburgh is usually held at The Stand Comedy Club.
